The fifteenth edition of the European Film Festival 2011, organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) from May 5 to 29 in Bucharest, Brasov, Iasi, Targu Mures and Timisoara, brings a record number of movies: 59 films from 28 countries.
„This year, 28 countries are participating, and as a first the Republic of Moldova, as well. The festival includes 59 films and the honorary ambassador is Radu Munteanu”, ICR President Horia Roman Patapievici announced on Tuesday, in a press conference.
Ariadna Ponta, Director of International Relations of ICR, said that all the films to be screened in the festival were selected by the partners going to be present in the festival.
The Opening Gala of the festival, which will be held on Thursday, May 5, is to present the Polish feature film „Essential Killing”, directed by Lerzy Skolimowski, afilm awarded with the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, 2010, and numerous other international awards.
