„Days and nights of Literature” International Festival, on Black Sea shore
The tenth edition of the „Days and nights of Literature” International Festival, which will take place in Neptun and Mangalia, on the Black Sea Coast, from June 9 to 13, begins on Thursday, as organized by the Writers Union of Romania (USR).
According to the Department of International Relations / Events of the USR, the event brings together about seventy participants from the country and from abroad (Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Great Britain, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, U.S.A.), covering the entire area of written culture: writers, translators, editors, critics and literary editors from the press.
Lecture sessions are to offer the poets an opportunity to read from own creations.
USR colloquium invites to a debate on „Literature without borders? – Exile – Interior Exile – Exile in own language” , „dedicated this year to multiple, various, contradictory aspects of the writer in exile, under all its forms”.
The awarding ceremony of the Grand Prix „Ovidius” to a literary renown personality, by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage National (MCPN), is scheduled in the framework of this festival, the same as the Festival Award for a young writer, conferred by the Municipality of Mangalia and USR.
Traditional partners – MCPN, Mangalia Town Hall, the Romanian Cultural Institute and the Polish Institute – are joined for this edition by the Embassy of the State of Israel to Romania and the Flemish Literature Fund, the Department of International Relations/Events of USR also informs.
