Karl Lamers: Romania becomes basic NATO member; we hail decision to host elements of anti-missile shield
Romania became a basic NATO member; and we hail its decision to host elements of the anti-missile shield, NATO Parliamentary Assembly President Karl A. Lamers said in his address to the PA plenary sitting taking place at the Bucharest-based Parliament Palace.
‘Romania joined NATO and became a basic member of our Alliance. Romania strongly supports the anti-missile shield project, and we hail your country’s decision to host elements of the shield,’ said President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The 57th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly takes place at the Parliament Palace in Bucharest, on Oct 7-10. The session includes speeches by Romania’s President Traian Basescu, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen Romanian Senate’s President Mircea Geoana and the Chamber of Deputies speaker Roberta Anastase.
