Costel Busuioc, Hristo Stoichkov plead in Brussels for lifting of restrictions on Romanian, Bulgarian workers
While attending a debate in the European Parliament, Romanian tenor Costel Busuioc and Bulgarian football player Hristo Stoichkov pleaded for lifting of labour restrictions imposed by certain EU member states on Romanian and Bulgarian workers.
Costel Busuioc was introduced by Romanian Eurodeputy Elena Basescu, who described him as ‘a Romanian who succeeded in proving, through simplicity and modesty and especially thanks to his talent he can aspire to higher things in life no matter his education.’
„I thank Spain for promoting and discovering me. I advocate for the opening of all borders for the Romanian and Bulgarian workers. I want Romania to be regarded by taking into consideration the majority, the people working hard,” Busuioc said.
The debate entitled ”Mobility of Workers within the Single market in Times of Crisis. With or Without Romanians?”, staged by the European People’s Party group (EPP) at the European Parliament was opened by Romanian MEP Marian Jean Marinescu.
