The National Natural Gas Company (SNGN) Romgaz Medias (central Romania) increased the natural gas imports because of the demand growth on the market in the context of the low temperatures registered these days, informs a Romgaz release on Thursday.
„The significant air temperature decline all over Romania and the persistence of the situation in the coming period led to an increased natural gas demand. SNGN Romgaz SA Medias began supplementing the amount of imported gas delivered to customers. Over the entire cold period, Romgaz secured and continues to secure the maximum natural gas production from the exploited gas fields, which stands at about 30 percent of the daily natural gas deliveries,” shows a Romgaz relese.
The Natural Gas Storage Branch of Romgaz, the storage facilities operator, put at the disposal of stored gas owners the maximum capacity of natural gas extraction from storage facilities, currently amounting to 19 cubic metres / day.
Romgaz points out that, following the works carried out in the past years, the capacity of natural gas extraction from storage facilities at the beginning of cycle grew by 40 percent, at present cycle reaching 31.2 million cubic metres / day, but as these storage facilities are emptied, the extraction capacity diminishes, reaching about 14 million cubic metres / day at the end of the extraction cycle.
