Big freeze kills 6 in last 24 hours, death toll stands at 74
Six persons were killed by the big freeze in Romania in the last 24 hours, with the death toll raising to 74 because of severe weather conditions, the Health Ministry (MS) reported.
According to the MS, among the deceased persons, five were found dead outside their home.
In Romania, 74 people have died so far with severe hypothermia since weather forecasters issued the orange freeze code.
Romania’s Health Ministry also informed that the SMURD ambulance crews have carried 207 homeless people and people suffering from severe cold to hospitals or to shelters, during the past 24 hours.
