Cristian Diaconescu is to participate in Foreign Affairs and General Affairs Councils in Brussels
Foreign Affairs Minister Cristian Diaconescu on Monday and Tuesday will participate in the meetings of the Foreign Affairs and General Affairs Councils, taking place in Brussels.
The debates within the Foreign Affairs Council will be aiming at the developments in the Southern Neighbourhood, with an emphasis on the situation in Syria, Egypt and the Peace Process in the Middle East. Moreover, the ministers will analyse the stage of the relations of the EU with the states of the South Caucasus.
The General Affairs Council will focus on the preparation of the spring meeting of the European Council, which will be approaching the topics concerning the measures for consolidation of economic growth, employment rate and the coordination of economic and budgetary policies in the EU.
The discussions referring to Serbia’s European prospects are on the agenda of the both councils.
