Speaker of the Deputies’ Chamber Roberta Anastase announced that the deputies who had not attended the sittings will have their daily fees cut, no matter if they are from the power or from the opposition.
‘All those who did not attend the sittings will have their daily fees cut. Therefore, we do not speak of political groups, but of those parliamentarians who are absent’, Anastase explained.
She stressed the daily fees will be cut both for missing the plenary sittings and the commission meetings.
‘A commission member is deemed absent if the commission has been called and it has an agenda. If the meetings was not called, it is not the parliamentarian’s fault (that they do not attend – editor’s note), it is the meeting chair’s fault or maybe the commission did not have bills on its agenda’, Anastase said.
