Romania, in the period March 7-11, with a stand set up by the Regional Development and Tourism Ministry (MDRT), is attending the 46th Berlin International Tourism Fair, gathering worldwide tour-operators, airlines and hotel companies.
ITB is the largest tourism fair in the world, gathering each year over 110,000 specialist visitors, out of which more than 30 percent form abroad.
For five days, over 11,000 companies of 180 countries present their product and service offer, with approximately 190 press conferences being scheduled during the fair.
Over six billion-euro contracts have been signed annually in ITB.
Romania has been attending ITB with a national stand since 1970. Following the participation of Romania in the 2009 edition, the country re-entered TUI catalogue in 2010, thus marking the come back of the largest German tour-operator on the Romanian market.
Furthermore, in 2009, the Romanian tourist offers were included in the 2010 catalogues of other German tour-operators, such as Dertour, ITS and Messerschmidt.
ITB is the largest tourism fair in the world, covering a 160,000 square metre area and registering 178,971 visitors, out of which 110,857 are specialist visitors.
