Deputies’ Chamber Speaker Anastase: Only my PDL colleagues can ask for my resignation from office
Speaker of Deputies’ Chamber Roberta Anastase said that her colleagues of the ruling Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) are the only ones who can ask for her resignation from office, because thanks to their support, and not of the leaders of the Opposition, she was able to fill this position.
Roberta Anastase said the PDL is ready to enter dialogue with the opposition parties.
‘We have constantly called on the Opposition to hold talks on real topics, and the agenda of the Parliament includes very important subjects (such as) the Fiscal Treaty, the laws within the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism we have established with the European Union, the electoral legislation, these are themes the Romanians are interested in,’ Anastase pointed out.
According to her, there are signals that the members of the Opposition want to renounce to the parliamentary strike.
‘The two leaders of the Opposition must renounce to this negative approach and we are willing to enter dialogue. There are many MPs in the Oppositions wanting to attend the works of the Parliament. Neither the decision on the parliamentarians’ wages, issued by the leaders of the Social Liberal Union, was respected by them. I believe that all the signals from the interior of the two groups point out to their resuming the works as parliamentarians,’ said Anastase, giving the example of the MPs from Vaslui who did not respect the decision regarding their salaries.
