Very cold weather throughout Romania, snow and sleet in Moldova and Transylvania
According to the National Weather Forecast Service Company (ANM), weather got extremely cold all over Romania, starting on Sunday April 8, 6 P.M., local time, till on Monday April 9, 3 P.M.
It has been sleeting and snowing in Transylvania, Moldavia, and the mountain areas, late on Sunday and throughout the night till Monday.
The wind scored speeds higher than 60 km/h in eastern Romania, and over 80 and 90 km/h, in the mountain areas.
It was raining in the mountains, particularly in central and eastern Romania, on Sunday, with 20-25 liters per sq.m.
The counties affected by the bad weather are Mures, Banat, Sibiu, Brasov, Covasna, Harghita, Suceava, Neamt, Bacau, Vrancea, Galati, Vaslui, Iasi, Botosani, Valcea, Arges, Dambovita, Prahova and Buzau.
