The Central Commission for Population and Housing Census 2011 will convene on Monday, August 20, at the Administration and Interior Ministry (MAI) headquarters.
Administration and Interior Minister Mircea Dusa, as Chairman, will lead the works of the Commission.
According to law, the technical secretariat of the Commission for Population and Housing Census functions within the National Institute for Statistics and carries out the works of preparing, organizing, processing and release of the census data.
Administration and Interior Minister Mircea Dusa on August 14 announced he demanded the ministries, which are part of the Commission and which were going to take into account the census data in the economic strategies to be drawn up in the coming years, to present him a point of view concerning the assessment they made based on these preliminary data.
He reiterated that the election lists had no connection with the census completion.
‘The election lists have not connection with the census completion and this meeting [of the Census Commission] was supposed to be held two weeks ago, three weeks ago. Because of the Government reshuffle and the appointment of the secretaries of state who are part of the Commission, its convening was postponed. I believe that, we have taken measures in a very short time,’ Mircea Dusa also said on August 14.
