Ferarri racing car driven by Michael Schumacher in 1999 to be auctioned off in Mamaia
The Ferrari F399 Formula 1 racing car driven by Michael Schumacher in the 1999 Formula 1 season, a jersey signed by footballer Cristian Chivu (Inter Milan), the Olympic torch of the 1972 Olympics, as well as other sports items will be auctioned off on August 26, in Mamaia (the pearl of the Romanian seaside, south-east of Bucharest).
Auction house Artmark will organize this event at Fratelli Beach & Club Mamaia Nord, where sports item enthusiasts can bid to buy some interesting objects.
The Ferrari F399 Formula 1 racing car driven by Michael Schumacher in the 1999 Formula 1 season will have a starting price of 125,000 euros. The racing car driven then by Michael Schumacher (replaced by Mika Sato after the crash at Silverstone) and Eddie Irvine brought Ferrari the constructors’ world title after years of waiting since 1983.
At the same auction, collectors can buy a jersey belonging to footballer Cristian Chivu, a handball ball belonging to former international Stefan Birtalan and the Olympic torch from the 1972 Olympics in Munich, along with signed photographs, diplomas and posters from Ion Tiriac, Ilie Nastase and Nadia Comaneci.
Put up for auction are also Mihai Leu’s signed boxing boots, 12 medals and plaques of Romanian sport in inter-war period and a boxing manual, dating from 1925.
