The Romanian athletes won on Sunday four medals in the World Junior Academic Rowing Championships of Plodviv, Bulgaria, which led to a general balance of 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Men’s coxless pair team, made up of Neculai Aniculesei, Dumitru Mariuc, took the gold, with a time of 6 min 47 sec 71/100, another gold medal having been won in 8 +1 women (Gianina-Elena Beleaga, Elena Turta, Alina-Elena Pop, Iuliana Popa, Ana-Maria Boca, Giorgiana Cucu, Mihaela-Teodora Berindei, Denisa-Maria Albu, Georgiana Danciu), in 6 min 34 sec 98/100, followed at about three seconds by the American crew.
Livia-Ionela Lehaci and Andreea Asoltanei won the silver in the women’s double sculls, with the time of 7 min 23 sec 47/100, being surpassed by Lithuania (7:18.80).
Laura Oprea took the bronze in the women’s skiff (single sculls) in 8 min 04 sec 25/100.
On Saturday the Romanian athletes won a gold medal through the women’s quad scull team (Andreea-Mihaela Tataru, Maricela-Dorina Otea, Viviana-Iuliana Bejinaru, Ioana Vrinceanu), one silver medal, through the the coxless four men’s team (Pavel-Iulian Buiciac, Alexandru-Cosmin Macovei, Danut-Viorel Rusu, Cristian Ivascu), and one bronze medal, brought by the men’s quad scull team (Marian-Florian Enache, Nicu-Ionut Bocancea, Laurentiu-Marian Colceag, Florin-Aurelian Buznean).
