Romania’s President Traian Basescu on Thursday and Friday will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan, at the invitation of his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
According to a release of the Presidential Administration, on the agenda of the two heads of state there is the signing of the „Action Plan for the practical implementation of the terms included in the Joint Presidential Declaration,” within the strategy to strengthen the Romanian-Turkmen relations, mainly in the energy field.
„In this regard, an important stake of the bilateral cooperation is that of increasing the volume of trade exchanges and investments between Romania and Turkmenistan. Besides the energy sector, the constructions, the IT sector, the agriculture, the textile industry, the water resource management and the public health are some of the common interest areas identified as having a good cooperation potential,” the Presidency informs.
President Basescu’s agenda also includes,among others, according to the protocol, visits to the Constitution Monument and to the National Main Museum of Turkmenistan.
