The first tourist theme route in the Danube Delta, proposed by ” Ivan Patzaichin” Association(AIP) and the Association of Ecotourism in Romania (AER) is accompanied, as of Monday, by an audio-guide which presents tourists the most common bird sounds in the area.
According to a press release remitted the route can be covered using waterways – Rowmania center in Crisan – Crisan channel-Capcicova lake-Iacob lake-Crisan channel – with a „canotca” (a canoe/dinghy boat) that is rented from the Center for Ecotourism – Rowmania – from Crisan locality, the visitors benefiting, besides the audio-guide with sounds of the most common birds in the area, of a brochure with more information about the local community and birds in the Delta.
„Currently a film about the delta and its biodiversity is in the making, which will be presented from next year to people who will want to take the route proposed by us”, Bianca Burlea, project coordinator.
The Danube Delta will be promoted at the National Ecotourism Conference, which will take place on November 2, at the new headquarters of the National Library, as one of the 10 ecotourism destinations recognized by the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism.
The Danube Delta is one of Romania’s tourist destinations which will benefit of a strong promotional campaign at the national level, the area being a country sub-brand.
Developed within the project ”With the ‘canotca’ in the Delta: innovative methods of interpretation of nature”, the track close to Crisan locality was developed to diversify the offer of activities in the area and aims at highlighting fauna and flora diversity in the Delta, the Reserve being considered the third most important ecological area in the world.
The project of the two associations is part of a long string of such actions developed by AER and AIP to create the prerequisites of a sustainable development of the Danube Delta through ecotourism after, in previous years, a strategy for visiting the Danube Delta was drafted, the „canotca” signed by Ivan Patzachin and Rowmania movement to promote slow tourism on the waterways in Romania was launched, as well as the ecotourism destinations and a responsible behavior towards nature. As well, the Rowmania Ecotourism Center was inaugurated in Crisan.
