Romania, record performance in rankings of fastest growing technology companies in the region

Romania had, in 2012, a record performance in the rankings of the fastest growing technology companies in the region, compiled by Deloitte, in conditions under which Vola.ro online travel services company ranked first in this rankings and TeamNet International made its debut in the category dedicated to large companies, reveals the results of this year’s ranking of Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe.

„For the second consecutive year, Vola.ro online travel services company ranked first, with a record revenue growth rate (17.323 percent, averaged over five years), while TeamNet International debuts in the category dedicated to large companies, which is a first for local technology industry „, the report notes.

According to the quoted source, Romanian companies conducting activities in the technology sector successfully respond to the challenges of the global crisis and continue to strengthen their position in the region.

List of finalists in Romania, this year, is made up of Vola.ro Ltd (No. 1, Bucharest, with an increase of 17,323 percent in revenue in 2007-2011, SmartTel SA (No. 14, Bucharest, +894 percent), TeamNet International SA (No. 16, Bucharest, 870 percent), Crys Computers Ltd (No. 25, Bucharest, +597 percent), Accesa (No. 28, Cluj-Napoca, +501 percent) and Ingenio Software Ltd (No. 43, Bucharest, +264 percent).

„The results of this year’s rankings confirm our expectations in respect of the local companies in the technology sector. We can only congratulate the finalists for their performance. Vola.ro, the company ranked first in 2012, as well, registered the highest rate of growth since the beginning of the crisis in the region (2008-2009), that was also felt in this industry’s outcome, as well as the second highest rate of growth in the history of this program at regional level „, said Ahmed Hassan, Country Managing Partner of Deloitte Romania and team leader specializing in Technology, Media and Telecommunications industries.

According to the results of the past five years, since Romania participates in this program, most of the Romanian finalists can be found again in the top half of this rankings, being a situation comparable to 2010, when Romania had the best representation (seven companies).
