Foreign Affairs Minister Titus Corlatean on Thursday and Friday participates in the informal ‘Snow Meeting,’ taking place in January each year in Trakai, Lithuania.
According to a MAE release remitted to Agerpres on Wednesday, the edition this year take place in the context of Lithuania’s taking over the EU Council Presidency in the second half of 2013 and on the occasion of marking 10 years from the adoption of the European Security Strategy and will focus on aspects related with European security, as well as on the developments in the Eastern neighbourhood.
In the context of attending the Trakai meeting, the Romanian chief diplomat will deliver a speech within the session called ’10 years of European Security Strategy – does it still serve this purpose?.’
On the sidelines of this meeting, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister will have a bilateral meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart. The two ministers will approach common interest topics of the bilateral relation, with a focus on economic cooperation, Lithuania’s holding the EU Council Presidency, the European Neighbourhood Policy, EU’s energy security and NATO’s expansion.
