CCIB Representation in Beijing to be doubled, starting March 2013, by a permanent exhibition
The Representation of Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) in Beijing, opened in October 2012, will be doubled, in March 2013, by a permanent exhibition of products made in Romania, reads a CCIB release.
Attraction of Chinese investments to Romania and incentives for Chinese partners to participate in achieving complex objectives in Romania, support for the Romanian companies interested in exporting their products and services to the Chinese market, development of CCIB relations with similar institutions in China, as well as encouraging academic and cultural exchanges are the main goals of the Bucharest Chamber representation office opened in Beijing, project that enjoys support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) and the Ministry of Economy (ME).
In the three months of operation, there were over 80 business meetings organized by this office with representatives of large Chinese companies, with officials from the ministries and with members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Beijing, within which concrete cooperation projects were presented in the energy field (conventional and green energy), transport, agriculture, chemical industry and medical field, and the Romanian offer was promoted (wine, cold cuts, soft, complex project management solutions). These meetings proved pragmatic and effective given that they were followed by visits to Romania of the Chinese partners, who began negotiations with the Romanian companies on projects with significant value and impact upon the regional development.
„Priority approach of markets outside the European Union, orientation of the economic missions, organized by Bucharest Chamber, to regions where the Romanian economic performance is recognized, identification of areas where Romania can develop complex industrial projects, but also to the countries that are interested in investing in Romania, same as CCIB involvement, as a member of various regional structures, in identification of trade partners for Romania, were principles which formed the basis of the external relations strategy of Bucharest Chamber in the period 2008-2012.
For the following years these principles will remain valid, with the note that the share of promotional events of the Romanian offer will increase in the European Union Member States, especially in Austria, Germany, UK „, emphasized Sorin Dimitriu, President of CCIB, on the occasion of a meeting with representatives of the business community in Bucharest.
Thus, the People’s Republic of China, India, the countries in Central Asia, North Africa and from the entire Danube region represent priority spaces for CCIB in the upcoming period. As well, Romanian companies are to benefit from specific assistance services, consultancy and promotion offered by the representation offices CCIB will open in Germany (for Europe), Morocco (North Africa), Moscow (for the Russian Federation), as well as in Central Asia and the Balkans. In addition to classical promotion actions (trade missions, business and investment forums), setting up of the Business people Club and the organization of some regional meetings with representatives of the Diplomatic Corps in Bucharest are other defining elements of the CCIB foreign relations strategy.
