Interministerial committee to monitor organization of „European Youth Olympic Festival,” setup through PM decision
The organization of ‘The European Youth Olympic Festival’ (EYOF) – the winter edition, 2013, will be monitored by an interministerial committee, headed by Vice Premier Gabriel Oprea.
The decision on setting up the interministerial committee for monitoring EYOF’s organization was signed by Premier Victor Ponta and released in the Official Gazette on Monday.
The Committee will have to present weekly briefings to the Government concerning the activities related with the organization of the event, which will take place between February 17 and 22 in Brasov and in other two towns of Brasov County (central Romania), Rasnov and Predeal.
Youth and Sports Minister Nicolae Banicioiu, Minister Delegate for SMEs Maria Grapini, secretaries of state with the Ministries of Health, Interior and Regional Development and Public Administration, Army General Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Stefan Danila, Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee President Octavian Morariu, as well as Brasov County Prefect Mihai Mohaci will be part of the committee.
The European Youth Olympic Festivals are first rank events for young people aged between 14 and 18. These events are organized every other year, in summer and winter, in odd years.
