The National Weather Administration (ANM) issued new warnings of wind gusts, heavy precipitations and blizzard, with a Code Orange issued for seven counties.
According to ANM, on Friday, in the interval 4,00 – 14,00 hours, seven counties of eastern and central Romania, Neamt, Iasi, Bacau, Vaslui, Vrancea, Suceava, Galati and Buzau (north) are under Code Orange and other thirteen counties – Botosani, Suceava, Maramures, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Harghita, Brasov, Covasna, Dambovita, Prahova, Braila, Tulcea and Buzau (south) are under Code Yellow.
In the above-mentioned interval, in the south and centre of Moldavia (eastern Romania) it will snow and a substantial cover of snow will settle, the wind speed will increase, with blasts exceeding 70 km/h, and the blizzard will determine visibility reduction under 50 meters.
For the interval 14,00 – 20,00 hours, another Code Yellow was issued for fourteen counties – Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui, Galati, Suceava, Neamt, Bacau, Vrancea, Maramures, Bistria-Nasaud, Mures, Harghita and Buzau.
Therefore, on Friday afternoon it will continue to snow in the north and centre of Moldavia and in the Eastern Carpathians’ region and the wind will blow faster mainly in the southern half of Moldavia, forming blizzard and scattering snow.
Temporary wind intensifications will also occur in Muntenia and Dobrogea and in Transylvania it will continue to snow.
Starting on the night of Friday to Saturday and until Sunday, there will be temporary wind intensifications and snowing in the south and south-east of Romania.
