PM Victor Ponta said on Monday that he had the last meeting with the delegation from the International Monetary Fund, adding that the visit of the international partners concludes with palpable results, among which agreeing on the final form of the state budget, the most difficult point of the discussions aiming the privatization of Romanian railways company CFR Freight.
„We have basically had our last meeting with the officials of the IMF, the European Commission and the World Bank. Their visit ends with quite palpable results. We have agreed on the final form of the state budget, deemed by our partners as a realistic budget, which allocates the necessary sums both to cover operating costs, wages, pensions, investments and co-financing for programmes from European funds. The budget is basically established with our international partners and I hope … that the Parliament will give their final vote,” said Victor Ponta during a press conference at Victoria Palace.
He reasserted that the Government asked for a two-month extension for the structural reforms programme, „so as we could present advanced procedures in the meeting of the IMF board,” on the government-owned companies.
