Women in the Park by Ioan Andreescu was sold for 130,000 euros at the Important Romanian Art auction the Bucharest-based Artmark House organized in Bucharest, and it was the most expensive bid of the session.
High prices were also paid for paintings such as Venetian (Putana) by Nicolae Tonitza – 75,000 euros, Still Life with vessels and book by Gheorghe Petrascu sold for 27,0000 euros, Sheep by Nicolae Grigorescu, Winter in Lizeanu Street by Ion Tuculescu for 25,000 euros, each.
Artmark also staged an auction of Post-modern and Contemporary Art, late on Wednesday, when 70,000 euros was the highest price paid for Truth and Poetry in Mangalia by Gheorghe Petrascu.
Important Romanian Art auction scored sales worth 510, 250 euros at an adjudication rate of 86.67 percent, while the post-modern and contemporary art auction scored sales worth 282,425 euros, at the adjudication rate of 89.16 percent.
The next Artmark action dubbed Martior I – paintings and sculptures is due on Feb 19.
