Romanian President Traian Basescu on Wednesday promulgated the law on the establishment of the Romanian Language Day on August 31st.
In February, at a plenary session, the Chamber of Deputies passed the bill which establishes August 31st as ‘The Day of Romanian Language’. The legislative proposal was initiated in 2011 and approved by the Senate in the session of December 6, 2011.
According to a release of the Presidential Administration, the head of state signed on Wednesday a decree promulgating the law amending Law No. 90/2003 on the sale of spaces in the state’s private property or the property of the territorial-administrative units, used as headquarters for political parties.
The head of the state also promulgated the Law bringing amendments to Law no. 241/2005 on preventing and combating tax evasion, as well as the decree on the sale of housing owned by the ‘SFT-CFR-SA’ Rail Travel Company to current tenants.
