President Traian Basescu on Thursday signed the decree on removing from office Robert Cazanciuc, prosecutor with the Prosecutor’s Office in the High Court of Cassation and Justice (PICCJ), following his resignation, starting on April 15, 2013.
Robert Cazanciuc is the nomination Premier Victor Ponta made for the position of Minister of Justice.
President of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) Oana Schmidt-Haineala said on Thursday, at the end of the CSM meeting, which was also attended by the interim Minister of Justice, Premier Victor Ponta, that the plenum unanimously took note of prosecutor Robert Cazanciuc’s resignation form magistracy.
‘The interim Minister of Justice, in keeping with the regulations, requested an addition to the agenda. The CSM plenum approved the proposal for an addition to the agenda unanimously and unanimously too it took note of the resignation of prosecutor Robert Cazanciuc,’ said Haineala.
CSM later sent the Presidential Administration the documents on Robert Cazanciuc’s removal from the position of prosecutor following his resignation. A
