Romania’s Olympic team took the second place in the International Latin Language Competition Certamen Ovidianum Sulmonense (Sulmona, Italy), the Education Ministry announces in a press releas.
The fourteenth edition of the competition devoted to the high-school pupils studying Latin gathered 117 competitors of 12 European countries and was carried out in the period April 18-22.
Romania’s team was made up of Anca Rujan and Oana Bujor (XII grade and XI grade, respectively, at ”Gheorghe Vrânceanu” National College of Bacau), Raluca Antonia Vlaicu (X grade, ”Vlaicu Voda” National College of Curtea de Arges), Georgiana Nutu (XII grade, ”Vasile Alecsandri” National College of Bacau), Emma Mihaescu (XII grade, ”Sf. Sava” National College of Bucharest) and Cristi Georgian Cucu (XII grade, ”B. P. Hasdeu” High-School of Buzau).
Anca Rujan conquered the second place and a special award for the best translation in the competition, the Education Ministry points out.(Agenţia Naţională de Presă AGERPRES)
