Sinaia Casino entering sightseeing circuit, as of April 27
Casino of Sinaia mountain resort of Prahova County situated 120 km north of Bucharest, will be permanently in the local sightseeing circuit, starting on Saturday, April 27.
According to the release Sinaia town-hall sent to media, tourists may visit Casino’s Foyer, Theater Hall, the Baron of Marcay Cabinet, the Hall of Mirrors, the Green Cabinet, the Baccara Hall, the Prince Dimitrie Ghica Hall, and the Carol I, Ferdinand, Queen Maria, Stefan Luchian and Nicolae Grigorescu Royal Gallery.
The Casino’s main attraction is the more than 500 art paintings of the art gallery, and temporary exhibitions.
The sightseeing tours will be conducted by trained guides who are to present the Casino’s activities during the one hundred years since it is open.
The Casino is open Wednesday through Sunday, between 10 a.m, 6 p.m. with visit tours organized every 40 minutes.
‘The Casino is a symbol of Sinaia resort. In 2012 when it celebrated a century, the Casino was open to visitors because the Sinaia Forever Festival was organized there. The success of the initiative made us to decide on a regular visit timetable. I wish everybody on visit to Sinaia come and visit the Casino as well. At present, the Casino backs up the local tourism organizing conferences, and exhibitions, book launch, theater performances and many more cultural activities, ‘ reads the release citing Sinaia mayor Vlad Oprea as saying.
The Casino’s building was inaugurated in July, 1912 and its main shareholder was Baron of Marcay, who also held shares of the Monte Carlo Casino.
It is for the reason that the building of the Sinaia-based Casino is a replica of the Casino de Monte Carlo.
