Numismatic issue – a silver coin dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Nicolae Grigorescu’s birth
The National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, on April 29, 2003, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Nicolae Grigorescu’s birth.
The coin will have a face value of 10 lei, round shape, 37 mm in diameter and it will weight 31.103 g.
On the observe there will be found a graphic composition suggestive of a palette, featuring the image of the ‘Nicolae Grigorescu’ Memorial Museum in Câmpina; the face value ’10 LEI’; Romania’s coat of arms; the inscription ‘ROMANIA’ and the year of issue ‘2013’.
On the reverse there will be found painter Nicolae Grigorescu’s portrait and signature; the inscription ‘NICOLAE GRIGORESCU’ and the artist’s life span ‘1838-1907’.
The silver coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French.
Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this numismatic issue is 500. The selling price per silver coin, including the leaflet, is lei 360.00 excluding VAT. The silver coins dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Nicolae Grigorescu’s birth are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
