MAI voices appreciation for British authorities’ willingness to clarify lift of work restrictions for Romanians
During an official meeting with a delegation headed by Chair of the Home Affairs Committee of the British Parliament’s House of Commons, Keith Vaz, Secretary of State with the Romanian Ministry of the Interior (MAI) Bogdan Tohaneanu voiced appreciation for the willingness of the British authorities to clarify particular aspects related to the upcoming lift of the UK labor market restrictions for Romanian citizens on as of January 1, 2014, the Romanian Ministry of the Interior informs.
„The subjects approached during the meeting focused on improving bilateral cooperation in the line of home affairs, with Keith Vaz reiterating in this context the good Romanian-British cooperation relations on subjects of common interest. In turn, Secretary of State Bogdan Tohaneanu welcomed the willingness of the British authorities to clarify particular issues related to lifting restrictions for Romanian citizens on the British labor market as of January 1, 2014,” informs a MAI release to Agerpres on Wednesday.
Attending the meeting held at the MAI seat were British Ambassador in Bucharest Martin Harris, as well as Romania‘s Ambassador in London Ioan Jinga.
The meeting was occasioned by the visit to Bucharest, over May 20-22, of a British parliamentary delegation that had talks with representatives of several Romanian institutions.
