A Romanian wounded, another one missing in Kabul attack
Two Romanian citizens are among the victims of an attack in Kabul, Afghanistan early on Tuesday, the Romanian foreign ministry announced; it added that, according to information yet to be officially confirmed, one of the Romanians was wounded and the other one was declared missing.
The two Romanians were employed by an international company serving a logistics base in Kabul, the ministry announced.
„As regards the attack that occurred on Tuesday, July 2, at 4:30 a.m. (local time) in Kabul, Afghanistan, the foreign affairs ministry announces that, according to the information known up until now, two Romanians – civilians – are among the victims of the attack. The two Romanians are working under a contract at an international company serving a logistics base in the Afghan capital. Information yet to be officially confirmed reveals that one of the Romanians was wounded and is now under medical care and the second one is missing”, the ministry said in a release.
The Romanian diplomatic mission in Kabul is keeping in constant contact with the local authorities and is ready to render the required consular assistance, in line with its legal powers, the release stressed.
