Romanian President Traian Basescu told Digi24 news channel late on Thursday that the existence of a cohabitation pact with the prime minister is a matter of responsibility, but he underscored there are many things that displease him, such as that in Romania stealing is by the help of the law’.
‘It is a matter of responsibility. Of course there are many things that I do not like. For example, I do not like that stealing by the help of the law goes on’, Basescu said. In this respect, he cited oil group Rompetrol memorandum or turning a land in the Great Island of Braila (at the Danube River) to the Braila County Council.
‘The theft by legislation has been inherited, it jumped in time from the (Social Democrat Adrian) Nastase Government to the (Victor) Ponta Government. These are things I am not willing to tolerate, since they are not part of the agreement on the cooperation between the institutions. (I will not) tolerate the theft by means of the law, I am not saying Premier Victor Ponta has stolen, he has been fooled by enough persons’, the president said.
