Romanian sports students vying in Kazan Universiade 2013 win six medals

The Romanian sports students vying in the Kazan Universiade, in Russia, over July 6-17 won six medals, informs National Education Ministry (MEN) press release .

As many as 105 Romanian students represented Romania in the Kazan Universiade 2013, when Stefan Gheorghita (Judo – 84 kg) and Roxana Barca (athletics – 5,000 m) won the gold, while four bronze medals went to Andree Ograzeanu (athletics – 100 m and 200 m), Cristina Carmen Toma (triple jump) and Simona Pop (fencing), the release reads on.

Another outstanding result got our national basketball squad ranking the 6th, before countries like the US, Ukraine, Germany, Estonia, China, Brazil or the Czech Republic. This is the best position the Romanian basketball team won in the contest, so far,’ MEN emphasized.(Agenţia Naţională de Presă AGERPRES)
