Defence Minister Mircea Dusa today will take part in the works of the Sumer University at Izvorul Muresului which main theme is Romania and Romanians at the borders of the European Union and NATO.
‘This is an action that is near and dear to me. I have been among its organisers ever since its inception, irrespective of my public capacity, and I have supported the works of the Summer University at Izvoru Muresului. Given that it is hosted by my home county, Harghita, I can consider myself the host of the event as well,’ said Dusa.
Also attending the opening of the Summer University will be President Traian Basescu.
Discussed in the first day of the event will be the rights of Romania’s national minorities versus the rights of the Romanian communities in the neighbour countries and the Balkans in an attempt to find out who is discriminated against, as well as Basarabia’s reunification with Romania as a major objective of Romanians versus Romania and related to this Moldova’s European integration through reunification with Romania as a Romanian solution for much more stable borders of the EU and NATO.
Expected to attend the event are nearly 100 people, including leaders of organisations representing Romanians from neighbour countries and the Balkans as well as leaders of the Romanian Diaspora of Italy and France and MPs from Romania and Moldova and members of the Romanian Government.
Organiser of the Summer University at Izvoru Muresului is the Toplita Cultural Centre in partnership with the Bucharest-based National Foundation for Romanians Everywhere, the Covasna-Harghita European Study Centre of Sf.
