Romania and the State of Israel will expand their cultural cooperation in film co-production, as Romanian Minister of Culture Daniel Barbu and Israeli Ambassador to Romania Dan Ben – Eliezer will sign a relevant agreement on August 12.
The Press Office of the Ministry of Culture informed in a release to Agerpres that the Agreement on film co-productions between the Government of Romania and the Government of the State of Israel strengthens the legal framework for the two countries’ cultural cooperation represented by the Cultural, Educational and Scientific Cooperation Program between the governments of the two countries, thus creating the necessary prerequisites for cooperation in the cinema industry.
According to the release, the agreement is aimed at increasing the number of Romania-Israel film co-productions, intensifying bilateral cultural exchanges, thus contributing to the further strengthening of friendship relations between the two nations.
The signing of the agreement marks an important step, especially in the context of the close relationship between Romanian and Israel film producers over the past 20 years, and of the constant participation of cinematographic productions from the two countries in national and international film festivals.
The revival of Romania and Israel’s cinematography in recent years earned international recognition through nominations and awards obtained at international film festivals, the release of the Culture Ministry also reads.(Agenţia Naţională de Presă AGERPRES)
