PM Ponta: Silaghi withdraws candidacy for Transport Minister
Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced that Ovidiu Silaghi withdrew his candidacy for Transport Minister, and he pointed out that the National Liberal Party (PNL – in the ruling alliance) must make a different proposition for the post.
‘We took note, we talked to Mr. Silaghi. As you know, he withdrew his candidacy. PNL is to lodge another proposition by Monday,’ PM Ponta told a news conference.
Liberal Ovidiu Silaghi says he has neither peddled nor intervened, any sort, to prevent the annulment of the Arad Nadlac agreement reached by the companies owned by Nelu Iordache, and he pointed out he was innocent, and it deals with President Basescu’s political move, only.
Head prosecutor of the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Codruta Kovesi asked the Prosecutor General to notify the Chamber of Deputies in connection with the request to start criminal proceedings against Deputy Ovidiu Silaghi for recurrently resorting to influence peddling while holding the office of Minister of Transport, an offense for which solid evidence exists.
