Prime Minister Victor Ponta said at the meeting on Monday night with his counterpart from the Republic of Moldova that he is happy to have the opportunity to attend the inauguration of the works for the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, remarking that „people mainly expect hard facts from governments.”
„We previously agreed that we should be on August 27 at the opening, at last, of the works on the pipeline. (…) This is not a protocol meeting, that’s what we both wanted, because beyond nice thoughts and words – which are important too – people mainly expect hard facts from the governments, not just pleasant words. I am very happy that tomorrow we will be able to inaugurate a concrete [project] that is important for our relationship. Before we came to you we stopped to make sure that things are okay on the Romanian side, because this pipeline was a story we kept talking about but never really got started,” Victor Ponta declared at the seat of the State Residence in Chisinau.
Prime Minister Victor Ponta arrived on Monday in Chisinau for bilateral talks with his counterpart Iurie Leanca with whom he will attend on Tuesday the inauguration of the works on the Iasi – Ungheni gas pipeline.
