President of Romania Traian Basescu on Tuesday sent his Moldovan counterpart Nicolae Timofti a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Republic of Moldova’s Independence Day, assuring him that he can count on Romania’s „total and unconditional” support in his country’s European integration process, the Presidential Administration informed.
„It gives me particular pleasure to address to you on the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova my cordial wishes of health, happiness and success in activity, along with thoughts of fulfillment and prosperity for all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. It is with joy that I remember the talks we had during my recent visit to Chisinau. I had the occasion to once more remark your open and close approach, your direct involvement in strengthening the Strategic Partnership between our countries, as well as your total commitment towards fulfilling the European destiny of the Republic of Moldova. The moment of excellence currently achieved in our bilateral relationship is equally a source of satisfaction and optimism, but also a call to action applied in line with the expectations of our fellow citizens,” reads President Basescu’s message.
Traian Basescu assured Nicolae Timofti of his commitment towards deepening the relations between the two countries.
„I take this opportunity to assure you of my steadfast commitment towards deepening the close relations between our states built on the solid foundation provided by the common spiritual heritage and of our active support for Moldova’s European option. You can always count on Romania’s strong, total and unconditional support in these directions. Please receive, Mr. President, the assurance of my highest consideration,” ends Traian Basescu’s message to his counterpart in Chisinau.
