Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Titus Corlatean and visiting Republic of Moldova’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman on Wednesday signed an Agreement on the general outline and conditions for the cooperation on development.
Corlatean said Romania has a constant cooperation relation with the Republic of Moldova and underscored the act signed on Wednesday amounts to substantial support rendered by Bucharest to Moldova’s European Union integration bid.
‘We have had a constant cooperation relation with Minister Gherman. Today (Wednesday – editor’s note) we will sign an important agreement on the assistance for development and, obviously, an extremely substantial support from Romania for the Republic of Moldova’s European goals under the Lithuanian presidency of the EU for the period after the Vilnius summit, having as a final objective the one set by the Republic of Moldova in a legitimate, sovereign manner: the accession to the EU’, Corlatean said ahead of signing the Agreement.
The act was signed as part of the Annual Meeting of the Romanian ambassadors being held in Bucharest from Tuesday till Thursday.
