Asus has unveiled the new ZenFone 5 series. It consists of three models: ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 Lite. ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 have in common the form and most of the technical endowments, except for the chipset, the RAM memory, but also the storage space. The two smartphones with metal frame and 2.5D glass on both sides represent for Asus the transition to the design with narrow frames. Company representatives say the 6.2-inch screen represents 90% of the front of theplanettoday.
Also in terms of design, it should be noted the crest borrowed from the iPhone X. The one from Asus is a bit narrower. ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 have 6.2-inch Super IPS screens with a resolution of 2,246 x 1,080 pixels. ZenFone 5 has a Snapdragon 636 chipset, 4/6 GB RAM, 64 GB storage space, but also a 3,300 mAh battery. The 12 MP camera is based on the Sony IMX363 sensor and offers optical stabilization and an aperture of f / 1.8.
ZenFone 5Z has the Snapdragon 845 chipset and can be found in three versions: with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, respectively 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
Asus has not yet announced the prices for ZenFone 5, but reported that the price for 5Z will start from 479 euros. With a 6-inch screen, ZenFone 5 Lite has the world’s first four-camera camera system. It has two cameras with a viewing angle of 120 degrees and two high-resolution cameras, at least one of which has 16 MP. In this case we can no longer speak of narrow frames, the screen with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels occupying only 80% of the front of the phone.
The ZenFone 5 Lite model will also be available both with the Snapdragon 630, but also in a version equipped with the Snapdragon 430. The RAM-storage space combinations will be 3 GB and 32 GB, respectively 4 GB and 64 GB. This smartphone uses a 3,300 mAh battery that includes a fingerprint sensor and a facial recognition system.
