Average inflation in first seven months 2010 stands at 0.8 pct
The average inflation rate in Romania in the first seven months of 2010 was 0.8 percent, with the year-over-year inflation in July reaching 7.14 percent, according to centraisled data with the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The consumer price index was up 2.58 percent in July on a monthly basis. The average price increase for the past 12 months (August 2009 – August 2010) compared with the previous 12 months (August 2008 – August 2009) against consumer price parity and the uniform consume price index was 4.8 percent.
The highest monthly price increase in July was recorded for foods (3.08 percent). Non-food prices advanced 1.92 percent while services prices went up 2.55 percent.
Compared with the similar period of 2009, prices for foods in 2010 were up 2.30 percent; prices for non-foods were up 11.58 percent and prices for services were up 6.14 percent.
