Baccalaureate graduation rate lower than last year
The Baccalaureate graduation rate was lower nationwide by 10 to 15 percent against last year, according to sources inside the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports.
Last year, over 78 percent of the high-school graduates who attended their Baccalaureat exam have also passed, according to data provided by the Ministry of Education, after solving the appeals filed by candidates against their results. In 2008, the exact proportion of candidates who obtained at least the lowest passing average, i.e. 6, was 78.26 percent, compared to 80.78 percent in 2007.
