BNR: Inflationary process has normal evolution in Q2
The inflationary process had a normal evolution throughout the second quarter and Romania’s National Bank maintained its inflation targets, announced on Friday BNR Governor Mugur Isarescu.
„The inflation rate floated within the interval targeted by BNR, of 4.4-4.5 percent in Q2. Per total, the inflationary process had a normal evolution”, said Isarescu.
He explained that the negative factors influencing inflation were the administered prices which increased significantly, some pressures in the sense of national currency depreciation and an accentuated volatility of the oil prices. Isarescu said there were also positive factors which influenced the evolution of inflation, among which a persistent deficit of demand on the market and the reduction of labor force costs.
