Economy and Commerce Minister Adriean Videanu, first deputy chairman of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), major at rule, told the public television channel on Tuesday that the ruling coalition discussed the timeliness of discarding the mandatory flat profit tax.
‘The mandatory flat profit tax, as far as I am concerned, is an impediment to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. In the case of small companies, levying it on the business turnover is a burden,’ said Videanu. He also reiterated PDL’s stance on preserving the flat income tax. ‘The finance minister is free to draw up hundreds of scenarios of fiscal policy. As far as the PDL is concerned, the flat income tax is an important asset to it and we will not give up on it,’ said Videanu.
