EU reconfirms commitment for consolidation of relations with Republic of Moldova

The European Union’s ministers of foreign affairs on Tuesday reconfirmed at the General Affairs and Foreign Relations Council (GAERC) meeting in Luxembourg, the Union’s commitment for the strengthening of relations with the Republic of Moldova by the start of negotiations for a new and more comprehensive agreement, reads a release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Romania was represented at the meeting by State Secretary Bogdan Mazuru, who emphasized the importance of the rapid materialisation of the political signal of support sent by the EU to the new authorities of Chisinau, by the start as soon as possible of negotiations for a new association agreement EU-Republic of Moldova. At the same time, he pointed out the need to relaunch the dialogue in the oulook of visa liberalisatiuon.

Foreign affairs ministers reconfirmed EU’s commitment for the consolidation of relations EU¬Republic Moldova by the start of negotiations for a new and more comprehensive agreement and for the endorsement of the new government in Chisinau’s efforts to start political and economic reforms.
