Ten new deaths caused by severe hypothermia were reported by the county Public Health Departments to the Health Ministry Operational Centre in the last 24 hours.
The extreme temperatures killed another ten people in the counties of Iasi, Bacau, Bihor, Buzau, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Tulcea, Vrancea – mostly in eastern and southern Romania. Well-below freezing temperatures have killed 43 people over Jan. 20-27.
