Isarescu reviewed the activity and responsibilities of the chief of UK’s capital financial district and highlighted the dynamics of commercial relations between Great Britain and Romania. Nick Anstee said that it is a privilege to be the guest of BNR and that he came to Romania at the head of an important delegation of business people seeking opportunities in the local attractive business environment.
Anstee mentioned that despite the crisis, financial institutions have worked properly and the banks further fulfilled their role. Risk management and the new financial regulations were the lessons learned from the crisis, but regulations cannot remove the effects of losses incurred on companies. Better supervision and transparency can prevent systemic risks, underscored Nick Anstee. He highlighted the importance of an adequate business environment in Romania, capable of attracting foreign investments, and emphasized the role of public-private partnership in economy.
