Head of IMF Mission presents on Wednesday evaluation conclusions of accord with Romania
Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Jeffrey Franks is to give on Wednesday a press conference, at Romania’s National Bank (BNR), at the end of the evaluation of the agreement with Romania.
IMF Mission is in Bucharest starting with July 26, having meetings with Premier Emil Boc, BNR Board, some commercial banks management, several ministers, including the ones of Public Finance, Health, Labor and Transport, members of the Fiscal Council, employers’ unions and trade unions.
Successful conclusion of the assessment mission and the approval of its results by the IMF Board in September would lead to the transfer of the sixth tranche in the value of some 900 million euros from the total loan of 12.9 billion euros granted by IMF to Romania, to which five billion euros are added from the European Union, one billion euros from the World Bank and one billion euros from some other international financiers. So far, IMF disbursed almost 10.7 billion euros to Romania, the EU – 2.5 billion euros and the World Bank – 300 million euros.
