MFP rejects banks’ bids for bond issue
The Finance Ministry (MFP) on Thursday rejected all the buying bids submitted by commercial banks for an issue of benchmark bonds maturing in five years, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) reports.
The issue was worth RON 300 million, but the MFP deemed unacceptable the price offered by the banks. The banks’ bids were worth a total RON 547.6 million. The nominal value of one benchmark bond was RON 10,000. Submitting bids were 12 banks – Alpha Bank Romania, BRD- Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvnaia, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
