MFP to issue gov’t securities worth 400 million euros

The Finance Ministry (MFP) on Wednesday announced it will launch an issue of euro-denominated government bonds for the local capital market of a tentative value of 400 million euros. The government securities will carry a one-year maturity and pay 5 percent interest per annum. The amounts drawn from the auction will be used to finance the budget deficit and refinance outstanding public debt.
