PM Boc urges authorities to quicken flood damage assessment
Prime Minister Emil Boc on Tuesday said that July 15 is the deadline for local authorities submitting the damage incurred by the floods of late June – early July.
‘I want you to quicken the damage assessment. Mr. Prefect, we have July 15 as the deadline for the inventory of infrastructure damage so that we may access the European Union Solidarity Fund,’ Boc said at the beginning of a meeting of the Botosani County Emergency Committee. He also announced that construction materials for the rebuilding of homes destroyed by waters will not be distributed before the mud has been cleared from the households.
‘The Government is making available construction materials to those who sustained damage in these floods, that is either their homes were destroyed or their homes were seriously hit and are now prone to collapsing. We will not send the materials now because we will not place the materials in the yards together with the mud and the water, said Boc.
